The Society provides a variety of exciting ways for you to give back to the Alliance community and help us bring the city’s rich history to life. Whether you love connecting with people and sharing stories through tours, enjoy hands-on projects, or are passionate about diving into our extensive archive collection, there’s a place for you here. We’d love for you to join us in preserving and celebrating the history of Alliance!
Tour Guides
- Meet people and share stories
- Lead tours of the Mabel Hartzell Home
- Showcase the many Victorian antiques in the home and tell about life in Alliance
- Help needed year-round
Community Support
- Assist with marketing and planning fundraising activities
- Connect with members and donors
- Help maintain financial sustainability
Event Planning
- Plan parties and smaller events at the Mabel Hartzell Historical Home
- Assist with event setup, catering, and clean-up
- Be a key part of creating memorable experiences for guests
Historical Projects
- Help promote awareness of local history
- Prepare materials/photos for display in public areas
- Help with research for public programs or publications
Maintenance & Groundskeeping
- Stop in the first Wednesday of the month to help with any of the following:
- Light yard work
- Weeding
- Pruning bushes and hedges
- Dusting the house or Mini Museum
