Discover the Alliance Historical Society

Established on June 29, 1939, the Alliance Historical Society is your gateway to exploring the rich tapestry of history woven throughout the city of Alliance and its neighboring regions. Our passionate members are dedicated to collecting, preserving, and curating historical treasures while collaborating with local schools and community organizations to bring the captivating stories of Alliance, Ohio, to life.

At the heart of our mission is the Mabel Hartzell Historical Home and the Alliance History Mini Museum, both of which welcome visitors for tours on the first weekend of each month from February to November, during the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival in August, and by appointment at other times.

We proudly showcase historical exhibits at local businesses and public venues, ensuring that the legacy of our community is visible and celebrated. Our enthusiastic members are also available to share their knowledge through engaging talks and slide shows at clubs and meetings throughout the area.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, we are guided by a dedicated all-volunteer board of 15 members who are committed to fostering a deeper appreciation for our shared history. We invite you to join us in this exciting journey of discovery, where together we can share Alliance’s stories and preserve its history.
